Life Imitates Art: Seth Rogen Wins at the 2026 Golden Globes
At the 2026 Golden Globes, life truly mirrored art when The Studio star Seth Rogen took home the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

“This is so weird. We just pretended to do this. And now it’s happening,” said Rogen, 43, whose Hollywood-centered comedy featured a Golden Globes episode in its first season. “I thought the only way I would get to hold one is to create a whole show to give myself a fake one.”
Rogen also gave a heartfelt nod to his fellow nominees: Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Steve Martin (Only Murders in the Building), Glen Powell (Chad Powers), Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear). “The other nominees, it’s incredible—Steve Martin and Martin Short especially. I remember growing up watching you guys my whole life, thinking one day I’m going to beat them,” he joked to laughter at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

He continued, giving credit to his own cast: “An actor is only as good as the people I get to perform with, and I’m very lucky to choose those people,” he said, shouting out Chase Sui Wonders, Catherine O’Hara, and Kathryn Hahn.
In The Studio, Rogen plays Matt Remick, a movie buff and the new head of a fictional Hollywood studio under intense pressure. Rogen also created, wrote, and directed the series with longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg. The March 2025 debut season featured stars such as Dave Franco, Zoë Kravitz, Martin Scorsese, Ice Cube, and Adam Scott, and the series has already been renewed for a second season. Rogen described the show as “our perspective of Hollywood—frustrating, disappointing, aggravating, but magical.”

O’Hara, Rogen’s co-star, is also nominated for her performance, and The Studio is up for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

Other Nominees Spotlight:
- Adam Brody, 46, stars as Noah, the “hot rabbi” in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, which chronicles his unexpected romance with podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell). The show, an instant hit since September 2024, is also nominated for Best Series, with Bell in the running for Best Female Actor.
- Steve Martin, 80, leads Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building alongside Martin Short and Selena Gomez. The true-crime comedy has aired five seasons, with a sixth on the way. Martin has said this might be his final acting project, describing the experience as “weirdly” perfect.
- Glen Powell, 37, stars in and co-created Hulu’s Chad Powers, playing a former star quarterback reinventing himself as an oddball player for the struggling South Georgia Catfish. Ahead of the show’s September 2025 premiere, Powell shared: “I’ve just always liked playing pretend. This is the joy of going to work and just being goofy with friends.”
- Martin Short, 75, co-stars in Only Murders in the Building as Oliver, one of the trio solving true-crime mysteries. He described the set as “fun and loose,” adding, “Everyone works in joy and happiness, because we’re lucky people.”
- Jeremy Allen White, 34, plays Carmy Berzatto in The Bear, taking over his family’s sandwich shop and trying to elevate it to fine dining. White also earned recognition for portraying Bruce Springsteen in Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. The Bear is up for Best Series, with co-star Ayo Edebiri nominated for Best Supporting Performance.
