Let her do it.
If she uses a Snapchat filter every time she takes a picture because it makes her feel pretty—let her do it.
If she wears the same shirt every day because it’s the one she feels most comfortable in—let her do it.
If she crops her photos to hide the parts of her body she’s self-conscious about—let her do it.
If she takes gym selfies every day to track her progress—let her do it.

If she poses the same way in every picture because she likes that angle of her body best—let her do it.
If she asks you to retake the same photo over and over again because she doesn’t like how she looks—let her do it.
If she feels brave enough to wear a crop top and shorts, even with stretch marks and cellulite—let her do it.
If she wants to wear a bikini at the beach, even though her body isn’t the same as it was in high school—let her do it.
We live in a world where it’s hard to feel “good enough.” Every day, I see women posting judgmental messages like, “Stop using Snapchat filters, stop smoothing your skin, stop taking gym selfies…we get it.”
But here’s the thing: why would you want her to stop doing something that brings her joy or confidence? Why does it matter to you?

If it makes her feel pretty, even for a fleeting moment, even if it’s just a tiny spark of self-love—let her do it.

It’s easy to find flaws in others. But what if we chose instead to find the gold?
Let’s focus on lifting each other up, showing grace, kindness, and encouragement.

And to all the women reading this: don’t forget to also nurture the beauty on the inside. That kind of beauty—the kind that’s kind, compassionate, and radiant—never fades. I call that kind of beauty, truly, BEAUTIFUL.
